Barbara Ann Corcoran

Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United States. She was the founder of The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage located in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001. She shortly after, she left the company. Corcoran, one of ABC's original Shark investors has been part of each episode of Shark Tank. She has participated in 53 deals since February of 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 purchase to cover 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child of 10 children born to an Irish-Catholic couple working in the middle class located in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence, her mother was an errand-taker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. his father was a multi-talented worker throughout Corcoran's childhood. Her family sometimes relied on free delivery of food from a friendly local supermarket. Corcoran recalls that her father was an alcohol-dependent drunkard who often treated her mother with disrespect and disrespect, especially after the fact that he was drinking. Corcoran struggled with her education and was diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran went to a Catholic elementary school in her neighborhood and began the high school year in St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran graduated from Leonia High School with a degree in English after having failed several classes during her first year.
